Grab those brushes and take out the paints! Today we’re putting the A in STEAM and learning how to paint. It’s officially spring and Easter is right around the corner, so what better to paint than a cute little bunny?

Supplies needed for bunny painting STEAM activity for kids.

The supplies for this art project are simple, and you might already have some of them at home. If not, a quick trip to the craft store is all you need. For this bunny painting, you will need:

Paint

Canvas

Paint brush

Paper tower

Cup of water

And that’s it! Once you’ve got your painting station set up, hit play on the instructional video below and I’ll walk you step-by-step through painting your bunny. I’ll show you shading and blending techniques and give you some ideas for how you can customize this bunny painting to make it completely your own.

That’s one of the things I love most about art. As an art teacher, I’ve seen hundreds and hundreds of students receive the same instructions and produce hundreds and hundreds of unique, different results. No two pieces of art are exactly alike, and there is no wrong way to be creative.

When you finish your painting, send a picture on Instagram or Facebook to the Winkle Crate so I can see how yours turned out!
